ITENARARY

The day starts at 9:00 AM in your hotel lobby, where you are picked up by our friendly and informative private English-speaking guide and certified driver in one of our air-conditioned cars or minivans.

We get everyone situated in the Long-Tail boat to ready for a two-hour tour along many of the canals on the other side of the Chao Praya River. See many houses on stilts, shops selling handicrafts or restaurants along the canals have been here for decades if not over a century. Some of the canals have intersections yet there can be a boat traffic jam at times, with smiles. All in good fun.

Our boat takes you through the canals to get to see the enormous Golden Buddha at Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen gleaming bright in the sunshine, go to the museum and see the wonderous wall paintings, then stroll along the shaded grounds hearing only chanting or birds in the most peaceful setting in a bustling metropolis. Our insightful guide is there to answer any questions you have about the temple, Buddha, or the history of the area.

Hidden out of sight along the Chao Phraya River sits an Artists village at Klong Bang Luang, commonly called Baan Silipan. Out of sight stands a hundred-year-old 2-story all teak house showing various art exhibits on its first floor, doubling as a chic café and a good chance for a cup of coffee or a refreshing drink. 

From alongside you boat you can see the residents plying their trade, miniature dinosaur monitor lizards in the shallows or sunning themselves on the bank on the canal. Along the canal, you can witness authentic local charm, traditional handicrafts, even feed swarms of hundreds of catfish.

For your lunch we will dine in a traditional  restaurant so you can get more of a feel for “the local life” and eat what the locals do. Go native for a day. Please let us know of any food allergies or sensitivity to spicy food and we can have it prepared the way you like it.

At the conclusion of your private tour you will be driven to your hotel in the comfort of our air-conditioned car or minivan.
